New Music West was a great event and featured many great industry professionals who spread their wisdom. The showcase at the Libra Room was a sold out event and the show drew crowds from outside the venue too who stopped by to hear the talent. Fera was first to take the stage and the two sisters were rocking the place. Next Atasha and Roddy took the stage and although it was their first official show together it went very well. The accoustic show went off without a hitch and included some great harmonies by Roddy as well. Pamela Keld took the stage next and her music was very soothing and at the same time sparked excitement. The workshops were well attended by many of the artists and Atasha's favorite was the Speech Level Singing class which featured a famous vocal instructor who has worked with Celine Dion and Mariah Carey to name a couple. This event was well attended and Atasha was very excited to be a part of New Music West 2007. We are now booking shows for a tour across Canada and we will update you here as the dates become available. The cd Joy Train will be available through CD Baby in the next week and we will have a link from this website. The album is finished and is ready for manufacturing. A huge thanks to Platinum Plus Universal Records, Robert Metzgar, Spike Jones, Tony Migliore, Suzie for producing such a fantastic album. Bal Dosanjh of 5 Star Shots Photography will be working on the album graphics with Web Technology. Once the album is ready for sale we'll be holding cd release parties in Canada and the United States, where the single is currently being played on radio. The album will be for sale on this website as well as others to be announced. Word on the street is that you can hear some of Atasha's songs at Gabby's in Langley. In fact quite a few people have been seen dancing to the songs. Check it out and request Atasha Marlee at Gabby's next time you're out for the night. Gabby's is a great venue for supporting up and coming artists. Atasha is honored to have been asked to submit material for possible performance for the National Aboriginal Achievement Awards in Edmonton, Alberta. The NAAA is great for acknowledging outstanding members of the native and Metis community. Watch for the televised show on Global! Thanks to the BCCMA for all your support. The Merritt Mountain Music Festival was one of the best we can remember. True to the many years prior the weather was great and so were the crowds. Big and Rich rocked the house on the first night with Two Foot Fred and Cowboy Troy. The fireworks were awesome. These guys really know how to light up the night. The next night Martina McBride came on and actually made the crowd so quiet you could hear a pin drop. Her voice was that commanding and the songs were phenomenal. Many artists don't sound the same as their album when they perform live but if it's possible, she sounded even better. Travis Tritt filled the festival night on Saturday and really got the crowd going. Unlike most artists who come out for an encore and do one or two songs, Travis came out and did a full hour more for the crowds and they went wild. On Sunday Randy Travis took the stage to close the festival and true to form he gave renditions of the songs that made him a staple in our hearts. Throughout the festival many great acts came out on the Little Big Stage including Atasha Marlee who rocked with March Hare and put on a fantastic show. Many people signed up for the fan club and to buy the album when it's released. This was Atasha's second time performing at the festival and she hopes to come back and work on the Main Stage sometime soon. Some other great acts on the Little Big Stage were Danelle Founds, www.danielle-foulds.com who writes her own material and is involved in a lot of charity work including the Children's Hospital. Kianna Passmore literally rocked with her rendition of Pat Benatar's, "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" and for someone who is all of 11 years old this girl is competition for Avril. Emily Adams was beyond phenomenal with her songs. Another young girl to watch for. The Beer Gardens took over where the big acts left off and the shows were rocking. Erik Nielsen, www.eriknielsen.ca was absolutely fantastic. His crowds went wild listening to him perform all their favorite songs. Brent Lee, www.thebrentleeband.com tore the house down with his renditions of some of the best songs including many from his own collection. Both of these guys are well worth seeing when they come to a town near you. Atasha would like to thank Don Adams and the crew from the Merritt Mountain Music Festival for all their hard work and belief in Atasha. Atasha would like to send out a personal thank you to Bal and to Andre for their support and for stopping by to watch the show. Atasha can't wait to get back to Merritt and tear the house down.

Atasha Marlee has finished her debut album in Nashville, Tennessee under some of the best producers around. The twelve song album features many traditional and up to date new songs, including “Lonesome Train” co-written by Faith Hill. After spending three and a half days on the Greyhound bus to Nashville from Canada, Atasha has picked up some great fans along the way. Atasha would like to thank everyone she met along the way. Producers Tony Migliore, Suzie and Spike think this album will soar in the charts upon its release. Atasha Marlee will be opening for Randy Travis at this year’s Merritt Mountain Music Festival and will be featuring two of her upcoming new releases with the band March Hare. The two songs that Atasha Marlee will be performing are the title tracks of the new CD scheduled to release in the USA this summer and later on in Canada and on the International Market. Atasha Marlee impressed the producers by completing her first twelve song album in 3.5 hours. Fresh from the return Greyhound trip in which her parents accompanied her, Atasha Marlee is now getting ready to perform at her commencements on June 29, 2006 on which date she will showcase a song or two from her debut CD. While staying in Nashville, Atasha Marlee had the opportunity to stay with songwriters/performer Chance West and Rebecca Labat and to make her 2nd annual appearance to perform for the Cedars of Lebanon State Park. The show was well received with over 200 people in attendance including many who returned to see Atasha Marlee perform this year. Atasha Marlee is excited to have her debut cd out and can’t wait until the next one is completed. Through meeting many well known artists in Nashville, Atasha Marlee has been blessed to work with some of the top musicians and producers in the industry. Atasha Marlee would like to thank her label, Platinum Plus Universal Records and hall of famer Robert Metzgar, Rebecca Labatt, Hannah, Jarrett, Chance West, Chuck Batti, Ray the Karaoke Guy, Bal Dosanjh, Susie, Spike and Tony, and of course the BCCMA for all their support and guidance as she takes the first steps on what may be a long, career in the music industry. Check out her site at www.atashamarlee.com to find out where and when the CD will be released and how to get your own copy. Copies will be available on her website when it becomes available. Atasha wishes each and everyone the best and looks forward to seeing you at her next show in Merritt in July.

Atasha's friends in Tennessee have been hit quite hard by the tornado's which swept through on the weekend. If you've had a chance to check CNN (they have the best coverage if not local) the devastation is quite phenomenal. Atasha would like to ask that you take a moment to remember the 12 people who lost their lives to this tornado. Atasha will be heading back to Tennessee in June to record her album and will be also doing some shows out there as well. The flight takes between 7-9 hours from our home in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Atasha plans to head out to the Cedars of Lebanon on Father's day and hopes to do a show for all the guests as she did last year. Atasha would like to thank the following newest members of her fan club: Lindsey - White Rock, BC Kiddo's - Surrey, BC Christine - Vancouver, BC A big thank you to all the fans who are supporting this artist and helping to make her dreams come true. Thanks for signing the guestbook, sending letters and emails. Sing you later!

Atasha Marlee would like to welcome you to the new site and hope you enjoy it. The old website at www.atasha.ca is no longer working and we've decided to take advantage of having the opportunity to rename the site and make it easier for everyone to access.
Thanks to everyone for their kind support and for sending the emails and letters. Atasha Marlee has many things in the works this year and next and it will be posted here. Atasha was recently nominated by the membership of the BC Country Music Awards for Female Vocalist and the Ray McCauley Award but due to time constraints Atasha was not able to remit in time. Next year... Until 2006 Atasha will be working hard on her album, her video and her concerts. A band is currently being put together by management and Atasha will soon be ready to hit the road. Things are moving quickly and we hope you stick around and enjoy the ride.
Special thanks to Hassan Kurabi of Web Technology for all his help with the new site. Check out www.webtechnology.ca for hosting, registration etc. This is a fantastic company who have worked with us to have Atasha Marlee on the web. The new site should be up by the beginning of October so bookmark this site and come on back to see what's changed. Sing you later!
